UKRA 2006
(NWR report by Dave Thomson)

UKRA 2006 was Sean's first attempt at a level 3 flight with his Pheonix. Sadly it would not fly due to a failure of the O ring where the fill stem went in. NOX was leaking past and the tank would not fill. The fuel grain was getting frozen and the flight had to be called off after a few attempts to get in in the air.

I was not going to attempt a level 3 flight with my level 3 IRIS, so II flew my smaller IRIS on a K660W instead. What a flight. The onboard video was great too. The camera was a Mustek DV (5600 I think from Ebay £10)

Andy flew his BBX and there were some other memorable flights too. The end of the meeting there was a fantastic fireworks display, the end of which there was a UKRA sign made of fireworks. This was then followed by a VERY loud bang and flash. You could feel the pressure wave on your chest from the blast. Amazing!

Andy launched his faithful BBX. This was a great flight.

The rocket shown below was fitted with a K motor I think. Anyway, this this really moved off the pad. Possibly through Mach?
